Google Ads' AI localization tool copies an English (US) Search campaign into another language, but budgets copy over with no currency conversion
What changed
Google's help page for the AI campaign localization tool for Search campaigns (beta) says it creates a new, independent campaign and never touches the original. It translates headlines, descriptions, sitelinks, callouts and keywords, removes text from images and adds the translated message as text assets, and can translate your landing page for ad clicks via a JavaScript snippet (or you swap URLs yourself). A review table shows each translation next to a back-translation into English. Budgets and bids are copied exactly with no currency conversion, so a $100 budget stays 100 in the new campaign. You reach it from the Campaigns table, Tools > Localization, or an Optiscore recommendation. PPC News Feed reported it as available in Google Ads on Oct 23; the help page has no date and doesn't say which accounts have access.
What to do
If you're testing a new language market, use it to draft the campaign, then check the back-translations, set the budget and bids in the new currency yourself, and test the landing-page snippet before you enable anything.
