Performance Max "Sourced videos" is on by default for new campaigns and may already be on in existing ones
What changed
Google's help page for sourced videos says the setting is enabled by default for all new Performance Max campaigns, and "may have been activated automatically on some existing campaigns as part of a recent platform update." With it, Google AI finds videos from sources you approve (your landing page, your linked YouTube channel and social media profiles) and can add up to 10 crawled videos per asset group, refreshing them over time. Sourced videos are uploaded to a Google-owned YouTube channel branded with your logo and name. It needs a daily budget above $5 and is rolling out in stages. Search Engine Land reported the new toggle on Oct 22, next to the Landing page images option.
What to do
In each PMax campaign, open Asset group, then Asset optimization, and check whether Sourced videos is ticked. Click Manage sources and only approve URLs whose videos you have the rights to use in ads (watch for licensed music, creator UGC and old offers). Untick it if you want full control. Check the Assets report for crawled videos already serving.
