Meta Pixel starts measuring conversions on customer devices from Nov 12, on by default

…
Until Nov 12, 2026 (midnight ET)

What changed

A new Meta Pixel setting, "Measure conversions on customer devices", is turned on by default for datasets that already send events, with measurement starting November 12, 2026 (the date shown in Events Manager and in Meta's advertiser notice). Meta matches an ad view or click to a website purchase on the shopper's device, using info they already gave you (like an email) plus temporary device data, and only tells Meta that a purchase happened and which campaign gets credit. Meta says it works alongside the Pixel and Conversions API, and your attribution window and model don't change. It is not active for people in the EU and UK. Reported conversions, CPA and ROAS can move even if real sales don't, 15 days before Black Friday. Meta hasn't said whether recovered conversions feed bidding or carry purchase value.

What to do

Before Nov 12, decide on purpose: check the toggle in Events Manager > Data sources > your Pixel > Settings and turn it off if you don't want it. Either way, save a baseline now (daily Meta-attributed purchases vs. Shopify paid orders for the last 30 days), keep CAPI running, and annotate Nov 12 in your reports so a jump in Meta ROAS isn't read as a performance win.
