Shopify script tags stop running on storefronts on March 1, 2027

…
Until Mar 1, 2027 (midnight ET)

What changed

Since October 1, 2026, apps can't create or update script tags on any API version. On March 1, 2027, Shopify stops injecting script tags into storefronts entirely. They already stopped on the Order status page. Any app still loading JavaScript this way, often tracking pixels, reviews or popups, must migrate.

What to do

Ask every app that adds code to your storefront whether it uses script tags, and get migration dates. Test tracking pixels on a duplicate theme well before March.
