Browser AI agents can now complete Shopify checkouts via WebMCP
What changed
Shopify added WebMCP tools that let browser agents read and update the active checkout in the buyer's session, handing control back for things like 3D Secure. With storefront and cart tools already live, agents can assist the whole journey.
What to do
Make sure checkout UI extensions don't block agent flows you want to support.
