Google Ads rewrites its sexual content policy page with dozens of new examples, with no change to enforcement
What changed
Google updated the Sexual content article in its Advertising Policies Help Center with many more examples of what is restricted and what is allowed, from suggestive dancing and fruit used as stand-ins for body parts to clothed kissing. Google's change log says the update gives "additional examples and clearer information" and "does not change enforcement of the policy." Restricted sexual content still shows only on Search, to some users in some countries, and stays off YouTube and Display.
What to do
If you sell lingerie, swimwear, sexual wellness or other products where creative can read as suggestive, check your Google ads and landing pages against the new examples. Fix anything that could get restricted before peak season, since limited ads lose YouTube and Display reach.
