Google AI Mode has been spotted showing up to four text ads under a single answer

What changed

Search Engine Roundtable reported on Nov 4 that Google "can now show up to four Google Ads in the AI Mode responses for a single query," up from the one-to-three ads observers had described as usual. The example, first shared via Search Engine Watch and Adriaan Dekker on LinkedIn, stacked four text ads (including HubSpot, Yext and Siteimprove) under an AI SEO answer with a Sponsored label. Google has not said how widely the layout runs, in which countries, or whether it is a lasting change. Existing Search, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns remain eligible for AI Mode with no separate opt-out.

What to do

Nothing to switch on. If you buy Search or PMax, expect denser AI Mode competition on some queries and watch AI Mode / Search Partner reporting for more impressions at lower positions. Keep titles and Merchant Center product data tight so you stay competitive when four slots fill.
